good animation, bad characters

Your animation quality was quite good, but sadly it is the only thing that makes you flash worth watching.

My biggest problem is that the characters are super cliché, I've seen them a million times before, and I just tired of them. I'm shur their is a lot to your characters I don't know that would make them unique, BUT it wasn't shown here so I instantly don't care about ether one of them.

Also on a technical side, why 18 FPS? it seems like a really odd (and low) amount to use for a fighting animation. your movement would have flowed a lot better if you just bumped it up to a standard setting. 24FPS is a standard movie speed, while 30 FPS is stuff like TV, there is a really important reason we use these numbers, so unless 18FPS was important reason, I say stick to the norm.

Overall good job, no matter how much I bicker, its not like I have anything better than this out right now, so really good job.

Yeah, this animation is short and doesn't show character development. All that is done in the comics. And i know 18 fps is pretty weird but its better than 15 and I was testing the waters. Next time i'm going to try 24, but the low frame rate is due to the fact of lack of TIME. I don't have the time to do a 30 fps animation in 4 weeks. Not on top of video game development and just needing to eat, sleep, and take poops.

But yeah, you make great points, and I totally respect them, but I was just happy to get this thing "done". Its not polished, but it shows the fighting win. Again, for story development you can check out the comics since that's where its at. :)

its a awesome build up to a awesome pay off. yeah its simple but the good audio/music timing and selection, makes it work for the ending.

SHE LIT A SQUIRREL ON FIRE!!! Really that is a new one!!! anywho It was very well animated, designs were nice, but she didn't look like a nymph at all. the only week point is the story, next time you might want to hold off just a few more weeks to put in another two or more scenes to really strengthen the story line so a viewer really gets more out of it rather then just being surprised that you actually lit a squirrel on FIRE!!! really as is that is totally the highlight of the work, and judging by your comment above you don't want it to be.

?? what comment? uh thanks :) and don't ask me about the whole idea of her being a nymph, I didn't write the story or come up with the idea of any of it, I just animated it that's all :) and there was suppose to be more scenes to build the story but like I mentioned in the info on it, other team mates did not finish their work.

[Super Mario Toad's Reign]

yeah... lame.

I too found this to be kind of crappy.
Animation was below average and story was way too serious for Mario, and overall was just boring
Ways to spice it up:

1. there is a lot of text to read that I find unnecessary, cut it out. and just like in the Mario games you should try to put a sound clip of the charters voice when their text starts.

2. Ether write a story that fits the Mario world, or find a world that fits your story.

3. make it less boring

well 2 stars for music and 1 star for the occasional nice background choice.
maybe the next one will be better.

Indie is the new thing to be. In a few years we will all be like "Emo... what?" All the kids will be Indie, so thoes who don't understand what Indie is, just wait a year or so and you'll find out. And as for your flash, Good stuff all around, sound, visuals, story, you got them all. Nice work.

A very interesting tail, very interesting indeed.

I watched your movie, THEN read the reviews (I find that I'm not persuaded by others thought that way) and I've come to an conclusion... I liked it.

I think what I am having problems with is the style, Not saying i don't like your style, I find it charming and nostalgic. But I find that the anima theme does not fit this story well, In anima All emotions are too the extreme, so I figured that the kid would go all phyco on the clerk with some sort of blade then some sort of ninja tool. So maybe in the future, if your so inclined try different styles for different stores, you would be surprised how much of a difference it would make.

As for trying something new, it worked okay. But what was really nice is that the end credits were with the song Yah'll Want A Single? by KoRn a song about trying something new even though no one wants you too.

I see what you mean, too many people on this site use anime

i drew anime because its my art style and plus i thought of animations like school days when i made this and elfien lied, its a great way to express emotion, i just enjoy using anime and in the end its all about using a style that you the artist feel comfortable with

and F.Y.I i guess i just wanted to make something that was obviously going to be a horror
thats why i am studying narratives a bit more in animations

I don't know why I need to say this but I do! Adoby did not make flash! Macromedia did! adoby just owns it now. as for your short. It was ok not too good not too bad. next time try a little better of a sof a story and work on your timing
